Al Shareq Sweets was founded in 2007, it is a familial company owned by Wafic Jaber (General manager), Ali Jaber (production manager), Ibrahim Jaber and Hussein Jaber (Managers of Nabatiyeh and Beirut branches). The company was called “Al Shareq” according to the East which is well known in its Arabic Sweets.
The company started with a few number of employees in its main branch at Nabatiyeh where the factory is also located. In 2011 and due to the need of work expansion, a new factory has been established based on international standards to meet the needs of the market and customers.
We had the privilege of developing the production of Arabic sweets which were suffered from many problems notably the methods of production and its tools, for this reason we have introduced new machines during the production of some sweets while we kept on the handmade work in many kinds of sweets that require high level of accuracy and perfection.
Since our main purpose is the “quality”, owners of the company are always looking for a high quality of raw materials, as well as to ensure the usage of best products in addition to refrain from the use of preservatives or any artificial flavors.
The company’s development process is still ongoing; that’s why we are always seeking to send our section’s heads to attend many trainings held by European trainers in Italy, Switzerland and Belgium in and to participate in some international exhibitions. Moreover, the company brings from time to time foreign experts to help in developing employee’s performance and to provide them with new methods and new products in order to meet our customer’s satisfaction.
As proof of our dedications to cleanliness and care, Al Shareq Sweets has been certified ISO 22000 by the support of the ministry of economy through its Qualeb program and by European support. This system is based on the control measures that should be implemented through all production steps of the food chain.
In addition to the ISO 22000, the company built its own Microbiological laboratory in order to test the raw materials, the semi-finished products and the finished products to ensure that they are free from any pathogenic bacteria that might endanger the customers ‘health.
The company has also obtained the support of the World Bank through the ministry of environment and its factory has been classified as environment friendly plant because it meets all the public safety requirements.
