Netflix has released a brief teaser on its social media accounts for the second season of its hit Korean drama series “Squid Game”, along with a message from creator, writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk dispatching details on which characters are returning for the second season.
The first season of Squid Game which was released in September 2021, was about a story of people who fail at life for various reasons, but suddenly receive a mysterious invitation to participate in a survival game to win more than 45.6 billion Korean Won (38 million USD).
The game takes place on an isolated island and the participants are locked up until there is a final winner. The story incorporates popular children's games from the 1970s and 1980s in Korea, such as the squid game, the literal translation of its Korean name.
What is weird and unbelievable to know is that the creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, wrote the story and script of the show 10 years ago. However, it was rejected by media companies and actors for 10 years, but he never gave up.
