Cinema in Kuwait has a long story to tell and history to talk about starting from the year 1954 when a bold and ambitious idea was born by a number of Kuwaiti businessmen to construct their first Film Release and Distribution Company in the Gulf area.
By then, it was a trend among Kuwaiti merchants to watch movies in their houses using 8mm and 16mm theatrical machines.
Friends and neighbors were invited to watch those movies.
