Al-Dawaeya, an online pharmacy in Kuwait, having 20 pharmacy branch in Kuwait, participated in the World Food Safety Day exhibition in the lobby of the College of Life Sciences, under the patronage of the Director of Kuwait University Dr. Yousef Al-Roumi, and with the participation of many food and nutrition authorities.
The Acting Dean of the College of Life Sciences at Kuwait University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Lafi, said in a speech on the sidelines of the exhibition yesterday, that we celebrate World Food Safety Day, which is a day dedicated to alerting people to problems related to food and nutrition, indicating that the exhibition achieved great success and demand is heavy, and the exhibition will include three valuable lectures from specialists in this field.
He added that this exhibition highlights the problems related to food and nutrition, its safety and how to obtain healthy and disease-free food.
He pointed out that the College of Life Sciences is one of the newest colleges established at Kuwait University. It contains four departments, namely the Department of Food and Nutrition, the Department of Communication Disorders, the Department of Environmental Technology Management, and the Department of Information Sciences.
He continued, "Praise be to God, the college is in continuous progress academically and socially, and a new master's program will be offered in the Department of Communication Disorders, and the college is currently offering three master's programs in its various disciplines."
Al-Lafi pointed out that most of the college’s majors are needed by the local labor market, but in some majors we have a problem in defining them in the Kuwaiti labor market, as they are new majors, but we are working to spread awareness and communicate with the Civil Service Commission to link all our majors with the needs of the local labor market .
In turn, the coordinator of the Student Association of the College of Life Sciences, Omar Al-Otaibi, told Al-Rai: “We are participating in the celebration of the World Food and Nutrition Safety Day.
For her part, Dr. Kholoud Al-Dhafiri, a physician and therapeutic nutrition specialist at the Ministry of Health told Al-Rai: "We in the Nutrition and Food Department in the Ministry are an integrated medical team present at this exhibition to spread awareness about the importance of nutritional health, especially with regard to chronic diseases."
She added, "Our specialty is a new specialty in Kuwait, in terms of entering the treatment of chronic diseases with therapeutic nutrition. All departments of the Ministry of Health refer to us those with chronic diseases and we follow them nutritionally."
