ACICO Group, the leading manufacturer of building materials and construction and engineering services, recently announced the appointment of Vassilis Mavridis in the position of Chief Operating Officer, and Ahmed Hamed Al Nouri as General Manager of the Group’s AAC Block Factories. ACICO expressed its aspiration to the contribution of each of them in adding value to the performance of the company's operations, in a way that supports its strategic goals and future path.
Commenting on the occasion, the company said that both Mavridis and Al Nouri have had illustrious careers, with 25 to 30 years of deep field experience.
Mavridis has extensive industrial and field experience in Europe and the Middle East, including the establishment and start-up of operational processes, manufacturing management, productivity and technological development, as well as crisis management. He has high professional skills in organizing production processes and personnel management, developing and implementing strategic plans, while improving and structuring operations, ACICO said.
ACICO stated that it looks forward to the role Mavridis will play as the new Group Chief Operating Officer in achieving more successes for the Acico Group, and consolidating cooperation with stakeholders, by formulating advanced strategies for ACICO's industrial sectors, as well as directing the process of defining its basic objectives and key performance indicators in line with the company’s general strategy. In addition, Mavridis will take on directing the development and implementation of plant operations and policies, supervising and evaluating their performance, as well as supporting sales and controlling budgets and costs.
The Group pointed out that Mavridis’s experience and track record is full of outstanding achievements, including the utilization of artificial intelligence in the cement grinding process, and its contribution in improving economics of production which will constitute a major part of ACICO’s future path. His most recent position was the Chief Operations Officer at Sibline Cement in Portugal, and has achieved significant professional achievements during his 18 years working at Titan Cement’s Thessaloniki plant, one of the largest industrial enterprises in northern Greece and Lebanon.
Meanwhile, as the new GM of the AAC Block Factories, Ahmed Al Nouri will be responsible for directing the operations of AAC Factories in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, while ensuring the development of their business plans according to ACICO Industries’ Strategy and in line with the best practices and applicable quality standards.
ACICO emphasized its confidence that Al Nouri’s long career and extensive experience will contribute to the growth of the company’s industrial sector and its production of white blocks and aerated concrete products, in addition to increasing its revenues and profits, and adding huge value to the performance of its factories. The Group stated that he is competent in increasing productivity and achieving the highest resources utilization. His expertise in directing the research and development department for production operations and quality control, as well as marketing and sales plans will all pour into the department’s growth.
The company noted the leadership positions that Al Nouri assumed during his pioneering career in numerous companies and various sectors, in which he was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Boards of Directors. Most recently, he was the General Manager of Kuwait Industrial Projects’ Al Raeda Petrochemical Co. a subsidiary of Kuwaiti Co. for Industrial Projects owned by Industrial Bank of Kuwait, and was the Managing Director of Union Construction Materials Manufacturing co. for 10 years, during which he managed its factories and supervised the company's entire industrial and production operations, along with its financial affairs. Such prominent positions qualified him to lead one of the most important industrial sectors of the ACICO Group.
