Al Hamra Business Tower celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 12th of December, 2012, marking a special moment in the journey of this iconic structure widely regarded as a symbol of Kuwait internationally.
The tower was inaugurated in the presence and under the patronage of HH the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, along with the then Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Alsabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarek, and Head of Parliament Mr.Jasem Alkhurafi.
At 413 meters with 80 levels, Al Hamra Tower is the tallest structure in Kuwait and stands out for its unique design that appears to fold into itself. While mesmerizing to watch, the innovative design also serves an environmental and structural purpose by drastically reducing the heat gain on the office floors.
The building’s appearance resembles a subtle, elegant modern sculpture or an enshrouded figure with its delicate glass veil reflecting the profile of the peninsula. This form provides transparency on the north, east and west sides towards the Gulf and near-complete opacity against the severe desert sun to the south.
It’s no surprise that since its inauguration, the tower has won more than 12 international awards under several categories including the “Best Tall Building 10 Year Award 2021 of Excellence” presented by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
Today Al Hamra Business Tower is home to some of the biggest and the most valued corporations, in addition to several government entities and international diplomatic offices and embassies. Not to mention the shopping center which houses a number of international high-end brands that serve a premium lifestyle.
Other attractions include the sky lobbies, cinemas, food hall, electric vehicle charging stations, and much more, which explains why the tower attracts over 8000 employees every day, making it the most densely populated area in Kuwait.
