Yesterday and while we were strolling around in the Grand Avenues, we decided to have lunch in the Japanese restaurant Katsuya and it was our first time to try this restaurant but the good news is that we actually made the right choice.
The waiters welcomed us with a strange Japanese word that we guess means welcome or so ... too bad we forgot to ask about it. Then we sat in the smoking area that overlooks the whole Grand Avenues view and were given hot towels to clean our hands.
After that, the waiter explained to us about all the sections in the menu and advised us to order the best seller dishes so we ordered Creamy Rock Shrimp as a starter along with Crispy chicken Salad, The Hollywood Sushi and a fresh drink.
The best of the best was the Creamy Rock Shrimp that tastes really amazing. It consists of shrimp that is covered with creamy spicy sauce and the price of this starter is 3.950 KD.
The salad was good but has a different taste that doesn't resemble the taste of any traditional salad. It consists of Asian salad mixed with rice noodles, Wonton crisps and shredded chicken served with Vinaigrette and its price is 4.450 KD.
And as for the Sushi we ordered in Katsuya, The Hollywood one consists of Shrimp tempura, spicy Kanikama, avocado and cucumber roll topped with spicy albacore. It tastes so good and its price is 4.950 KD.
The drink was so fresh and its price is 2.250 KD but we actually forgot its name. In general, Katsuya's experience was such a good one and if you go there, you'll discover just how good the service is and how friendly the waiters are. Katsuya ... the original Japanese taste.
