With great pleasure Kuwait Airways and Middle East Airline are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership, which will see Kuwait national carrier’s code, KU added to Middle East Airline flights and Lebanon national carrier’s code, ME added to Kuwait Airways flights operated between KUWAIT and BEIRUT. The Bilateral Code Share Partnership will commence from 25th March 2018.
Both Kuwait and Middle East Airlines have endeavored a cordial commercial relationship since 1991; and since then both airlines are reaping the rewards of such partnership which envisaged through Open Skies Policy which was adopted by the Civil Aviation Authorities of both the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Lebanon in 2005. This Agreement will take such partnership to a new height.
Mr. Sami Fahad Al-Rushaid, Chairman of Board, Kuwait Airways said: “We welcome Middle East Airline as a codeshare partner. This new partnership will bring enhanced connectivity and increased convenience to our customers, who can expect the same level of impeccable service that they expect from our airline when they travel on code share flights to/from Kuwait to Beirut. The agreement will support KU & ME operation between the two cities and allow more travel options, facilities for the public to take advantage of the services provided by the carriers. The new codeshare partnership will give customers the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines using one reservation, and a seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage check experience during the entire journey. Passengers and travel agents will be able to book directly on these flights thru our website and agents’ reservation system. Further, this Code Share Partnership will not only enhance the relationship between the two Airlines but also the strong relationship between the two brotherly States KUWAIT and LEBANON”.
Mr. Mohamad El Hout, Chairman Director General, Middle East Airlines said: “We believe that this partnership will develop the traffic further between Kuwait and Lebanon because it will provide more choices and more convenience to the customers of both airlines, at the highest level of quality provided since the creation of both airlines. This partnership is long overdue since many decades given the unique friendship between the great people of Kuwait and Lebanon and between our two respective airlines, who stood the test of time and who are continuing to provide excellence at all levels of the travel experience.”
The signing of this agreement coincides with the time when Kuwait market is witnessing steady growth in travel to Beirut as a main tourist destination famous for its rich history, hospitality, culture and other facilities which make the visit to LEBANON a perfect holiday experience.
It is worth mentioning that Kuwait Airways operates weekly 11 flights with 330/320 fleets and Middle East Airline operates 13 flights with 320 fleets from Kuwait to Beirut and V.V.
Both ME and KU are working the possibility to incorporate the Frequent Flyer program for Code Share flights, so Passengers can be rewarded benefits of such Programs.
Both airlines also agreed to explore other avenues for future mutual co-operation.
This partnership will be a gift to the great people of KUWAIT and LEBANON and it is dedicated to them.
The signing ceremony took place at the Kuwait Airways Headquarters in Kuwait on 15th March 2018 and was attended Mr. Sami Fahad Al-Rushaid, Chairman of Board, Kuwait Airways and Mr. Mohamad El Hout, Chairman Director General, Middle East Airlines along with respective delegation from both airlines.
