The Sultan Center in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy in Kuwait is hosting a “Dutch Healthy Food Week” event from February 15th through February 20th at TSC Sultan Center Souq Sharq.
The 6 day event is aimed at highlighting and showcasing Dutch products, was inaugurated under the patronage of The Netherlands Ambassador to Kuwait Frans Potuyt, along with Commercial Director Makram Malaeb and Operations Director Atef Halabi. Attendees also included TSC Management team, partner Suppliers and members of the Kuwait Community.
Following the inauguration attendees toured the store alongside TSC Management, in which Malaeb showcased the extensive range of Dutch products available within the store.
Throughout the tour, attendees also tasted several Dutch products being sampled on several stations.
The opening event also included a spectacular live cooking show by renowned Dutch Chef Edgar Buhrs who -mesmerized the attendees with his skills and expertise in grilling Dutch veal and variety of fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Dutch veal is known for being lower in fat than most meats, and can be used in a variety of cuisines. Attendees who sampled the food expressed their satisfaction on the cooking demonstration and the exquisite and delicious taste of Dutch cuisine.
In his welcoming speech, Malaeb said “we take pride of the extensive variety of Dutch products we exclusively import. Addition to a wide range of Fruits & vegetables including organic an organic line, we do fresh Dutch veal, one of the most unique red meat in the world. We also do a wide range of Dutch cheeses addition to basic groceries and confectionaries”.
In his opening speech the Netherlands’ ambassador stressed the importance of fresh and healthy products. He warned against the use of fast food and processed food, where extra salt and sugar is added. “We should return to original, rich products, to combat obesity and promote a healthy lifestyle, and to make cooking in our own kitchens again a pleasure”.
On the cooperation with the Sultan Center he added: “The partnership between the Dutch Embassy and the Sultan Center is a natural one. Sultan Center is the pioneer in Kuwait on organic and fresh products, promoting a healthy lifestyle. Dutch products as cheese, vegetables and veal fit very well in this concept.”
TSC “Dutch Healthy Food Week” is being held in cooperation with The Netherlands Embassy in Kuwait and includes new and exclusive products.
