In its latest effort to contribute to the development of Kuwait’s youth, Burgan Bank hosted 37 junior and senior students from the American United School of Kuwait (AUS) on Monday, March 20th at its head office. The field visit, which was intended to educate the students about the world of banking, comes as part of Burgan’s overarching social responsibility program that puts the development and empowerment of youth and the spread of banking awareness at the forefront of its goals.
Accompanied by a number of Burgan Bank employees, the students had the opportunity to tour the Bank’s head office branch, learning about the different functions and processes of a branch. In addition to the academic added value, the students enjoyed an eye-opening experience that helped them connect their study material to real life and its everyday application. The visit also came as part of the Bank’s continued support of the national “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, as the Bank seeks to foster financial literacy across the community and contribute to more financial savvy future generations.
Commenting on the visit, Mrs. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager of Corporate and CSR Communications at Burgan Bank, said: “We believe in the importance of maintaining our leading position in the education sector and investing in young and ambitious student talents, which play an essential and important role in our corporate social responsibility program. We also strive to continue our efforts toward eradicating financial illiteracy by organizing and participating in relevant initiatives and events, especially the “Let's Be Aware campaign”.. As a Bank, our goal is to enhance the level of financial awareness and banking knowledge among all segments of society. In order to achieve these goals, we continue to offer our support to educational institutions that share our vision and contribute to providing their students with more effective experiences that ensure a path to a successful, safe and sustainable future.”
It serves to note that Burgan Bank continues to lead the movement on human capital investment and education across the national banking and financial sector in Kuwait. This is achieved through its multiple educational and training programs that aim at developing its staff – such as Ro2ya, Entelaqah, and Innovation Lab – as well as holistic development programs for the high-potential youth across society.
