Saluting Egyptian Screenwriter Sherif Badr El-Din

Egyptian screenwriter Sherif Badr El-Din passed away this Wednesday morning due to heart attack at the age of 45. This coincided with the screening of his latest work, the series "Crossroads - مفترق طرق", starring Hend Sabry, Iyad Nassar, Majed Al-Masry, and Jumana Murad. Filming of the work was completed two years ago and its showing was postponed until it launched last month.

Sherif Badr El-Din was born on January 26, 1979. He graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Accounting Division, at Zagazig University in 2001, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Script Section, in 2006 with a very good grade.

Sherif Badr El Din's journey began by participating in writing many successful artistic works, such as “Alam Simsim” in 2002, the sitcom “Tamer and Shawqia,” the first part in 2006, the animation series “Basant and Diasti,” the first part in 2008 and the second in 2010, and the sitcom “The Clinic” Part 1 in 2008, the series “The University” in 2010, the sitcom “The Door in the Door” the second part in 2012.

Sherif Badr El-Din was famous after that for writing series taken from foreign formats, most notably “The Gift of the Crow Man” "هبة رجل الغراب" in its four parts, where he was the author and supervisor of the writing workshop, and also the series “Talaat Rouhi” starring Inji Wijdan and Nicola Moawad in 2018, and the series “Ras Al Ghoul” starring the artist Mahmoud Abdel Aziz in 2016 and the series “Shubar Mayya” in 2019.
