Dubai-based airline flydubai was recognised in the ‘Aviation CEO of the Year’ category at this year’s CEO Middle East Awards. The award was collected by Ghaith Al Ghaith, the airline’s CEO. Launched in 2006, the CEO Middle East Awards are judged by an editorial panel and recognise the most successful and innovative CEOs in the Middle East.
This week, flydubai was also recognised for ‘Best Cabin Innovation’ and ‘Best Passenger Comfort Innovation’ held at the APEX Awards in Boston, USA. These awards highlight the new innovative Boeing 737 MAX 8 cabin interior which features a full flat-bed in Business Class and our economy seat is designed to optimise space and comfort for our passengers.
Commenting on the achievements, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: “The flydubai team is pleased to receive these awards as they showcase our hard work towards continuously innovating and enhancing our passengers’ travel experience. Seven Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft have joined the flydubai fleet with seven more aircraft due to be delivered by the end of the year. The new aircraft will enhance flydubai’s operational performance while offering passengers an exceptional travel experience. The new aircraft offers the latest in terms of cabin innovation and is an important milestone for the airline and is a reflection of our ambition to continually evolve and exceed the expectations of our passengers.
With the recent launch of flights to destinations including Catania, Krakow and Thessaloniki and with flights to Helsinki due to start in October, flydubai’s comprehensive network has grown to over 90 destinations in 48 countries.
