Al Bustan Centre & Residence recently hosted the participating teams and the coaches of the 4th Fazza Para Archery World Championship from 2nd -7th March 2018.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), it is organized and supervised by the Dubai Club for the People of Determination with the support of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) and in cooperation with DSC, General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare and the UAE Paralympic Committee. The sporting event was introduced initially as a means of rehabilitation and recreation for people with a physical impairment.
Para-Archery is an integral part of the International Paralympic Games with a focus on testing accuracy, strength and concentration and is open to athletes with a physical impairment including spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, amputee and others.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: “It has become a tradition to host the athletes and the coaches of the participating teams of Fazza events at our property. Athletes from around 15 countries namely Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, India, Iran, Iraq, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, United Kingdom, South Korea, Thailand and the UAE participated in the championship.
